A. PARENT PARTICIPATION IS A REQUIREMENT OF THE PROGRAM.  

Central School Dance is run exclusively through parent volunteerism.  Without parent support, Central School Dance is not sustainable.  If you do not fulfill your volunteer requirement, your child will not be invited to return to the program the following year.  

Being part of this program is a very rewarding experience and there are a variety of ways to fulfill the volunteer requirement.  Please see below to find the area(s) that might interest you.  Please note that previous Committee Chairs will have priority to hold the same position.

• Scenery:  Work with a committee to help design, create, set-up and remove scenery. The scenery committee members must be able to attend dress rehearsal and the recital, as well as stay after the show to remove scenery. 

• Recital Program:  Work with a committee to create the recital program (use design software to layout, create and print the program for the recital; solicit local advertisers to purchase an advertisement within the program; include family booster message; distribute programs at the recital). 

• Pictures: Work with a committee to manage dancers on picture day and help hang pictures in the auditorium at dress rehearsal.

• Flowers: Organize flower orders with the vendor; coordinate delivery and distribution of flowers on the day of the recital.  

• Tickets: Oversee ticket sales through the designated web program. 

Room Monitors: Volunteer to monitor dancers during technical rehearsal, dress rehearsal or the recital in designated classrooms.  Help with costume changes and getting dancers lined up for their performance.
