ROOM MONITOR DUTIES
Tech Rehearsal Monitor Duties
Please arrive in the GR MS/HS Auditorium by 3:30pm.
Remain by your assigned group in the auditorium and crowd-control their behavior, so they do not distract the dancers performing on stage and/or the teachers providing notes and directions.
Monitor dancers who leave the auditorium to use the restroom.
Assist dancers with changing their shoes, as required.
Please plan on being at the GR MS/HS until 6pm: you MAY NOT leave until all of your dancers have been picked up.
Dress Rehearsal Room Monitor Responsibilities
Please find your assigned classroom by 3:30pm (all classrooms are around the gym/auditorium hallways).
Monitor the dancers within your assigned classrooms.
Dancers CANNOT touch anything in the classrooms, except the desks/chairs.
Bring the dancers to the restrooms, as needed.
Keep the dancers occupied in-between their performances on stage. Please make sure there are no items that will damage the costumes.
Keep track of all costumes; help the dancers keep their items organized.
Know what dancers are in which performances, so they are ready and in the correct costumes at call times.
The show order and costume photos will be posted in each room, along with the order of how the dancers need to line up when heading on to the stage.
Assistants will come and escort the dancers from the classrooms to the stage.
If you have non-messy, child-friendly activities, please feel free to bring them.
Please make sure the room is left as it was found: seats/desks in order and all garbage thrown away.
Please check the room for any costumes, shoes, accessories, etc. that may have been left behind. Please leave any found items on a desk in the classroom for the Central School Dance Committee.

Recital Day Room Monitor Responsibilities
If you are assigned to ACT I, please report to your assigned classroom at 10:15am. You MAY NOT leave the classroom until the Act II room monitors arrive.
If you are assigned to ACT II, please report to your assigned classroom as soon as intermission begins. You MAY NOT leave until all of your dancers have been picked up and the room is in order.
There will be a clipboard with each dancer's name in your assigned room: please check them in and make sure a caregiver signs them out at the end of the recital.
Monitor the dancers within your assigned classrooms.

You will be able to watch your child perform from the reserved front row seats.
Before leaving the classroom, please be sure there is an adult in the room (even if that means borrowing a room monitor for another classroom).
You may sit in the empty seats in the front row to watch your child’s performance; once your child has finished performing, please return to your assigned room.
